Governor Ventura signed a bill on May 9th, 2002 calling on schools to minimize students' exposure to toxic diesel emissions. Read the new law
Now, students throughout Minnesota are working on a public education campaign, and call to action for schools to follow through by taking the following simple steps:
- Stop unnecessary idling of engines
- Redesign parking of buses away from school air intake valves
- Increase maintenance and inspection of buses
- Over the long term, investments in cleaner bus technology and fuels
