Governor Ventura signed a bill on May 9th, 2002 calling on schools to minimize students' exposure to toxic diesel emissions. Read the new law

Now, students throughout Minnesota are working on a public education campaign, and call to action for schools to follow through by taking the following simple steps:

  • Stop unnecessary idling of engines
  • Redesign parking of buses away from school air intake valves
  • Increase maintenance and inspection of buses
  • Over the long term, investments in cleaner bus technology and fuels

Access the brochure on How Your School Can Protect Children's Health from Harmful School Bus Diesel Emissions (pdf, 457k).
